Steering & Suspension
This component is made up of the linkage connecting the steering wheel to the tire and wheel assembly. Most vehicles have power assisted steering, which includes a hydraulic system to improve steering.
Inspection of entire system "R" annually, with lubrication of linkage parts every 3,000 -5,000 miles.
Wheel Alignment allows for the straight line steering of the vehicle by the adjustment of linkage parts. This service is "R" every 6 months.
Any excessive looseness in these linkage parts is considered an "N" repair. Drivers need to pay special attention to any change in
Steering responsiveness and advise their service provider.
Shock Absorbers & Struts are designed to improve handling and control of the vehicle by maintaining tire tread contact with the road. These components are "R" and should be inspected for excessive wear (weakness) or leakage to determine if replacement is required.
